How can YOU help?
Last week there was a big earthquake in Haiti, in the Caribbean.
Because of the earthquake, thousands of Haitian people have no homes and no food. The hospitals haven’t got any medicine.
Around the world, people want to help Haiti. They want to give money.
- President Obama asked Americans to send a text message to a special phone number to give $10 (7 Euros). Americans gave $1.7million (1.2million Euros) in one day.
- Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and other pop stars sang in a concert. Fans watched the concert and gave money.
- In Norwich in England, one school had a ‘Hats for Haiti’ day. Every pupil wore a hat and gave money. The school made £700 (800 Euros). The school’s headmaster says, “I hope other schools do the same and have a ‘Hats for Haiti’ day”.

In my school every month we gave 2 euros for one association that help Afrikaan children, but these month the 2 euros goes to Haiti. I can help haiti with some money.

In my school there is a group of teachers and students who organized a collect of food like:pasta,rice and baby food and also toothpaste, shampoo, soap and so on,to help people with some problems. Last year we partecipated to a project, we collected some money to build 13 Libraries inTanzania and we sent many books to children. I think that is a good idea singers like:Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and other pop stars demostrated solidarity to the Haiti people,to help them to rebuild their home.

I think we can help the people of Haiti by adopting a child from a distance and donate a few dollars by calling the numbers provided. The whole world should help these unfortunate people in need. Unfortunately a few months ago has happened in Italy and the aid has arrived, why we should not help them?

A tragedy that affects a people already unfortunate! What can we do? Know me and know that I do not like being with our hands! HI!!!! I'm victor98 from Spain. Spain help a lot on Haiti and I think that all the European countryes help a little!! Lots of pops stars give to the O.N.U lots and lots of money to help the little country, and good example is of the famous Brad Pitt and Angelina Joly that they two give 1.000.000$ for help. Wow yes. Mmmmmm very interesting. In my school say for this Earthquake in Haiti.Maybe my country is little but we give a lot of money for this problem.We send a lot of greece doctros there.In my country we have greek Unisef,Actionaid, and more those.They help families and children. Haiti is an island in the Caribbean Sea, it share the island with another country: the Dominican Republic. Haiti is the poorest country in the Caribbean and it's a zone where often there are many earthquake and hurricane. In fact, in 2004 a terribble hurricane destroyed the palace of Haiti. On the 13th January a terrible earthquake destroyed many buildings of Haiti including the presidential palace and the UN HQ. Haiti is controllated by an english international organism, the Commonwealth. In my class we read somethings obout Haiti and we want to help these poor people. My I go to the Dominican Republic and I see that people hasn't nothing and I'm very sad of this because the are many people that have lots and lots of money and don't give nothing for help the people that is not rich but there is people that is very rich and give money this is very imortant. It is very dangerous live there. People must be very unhappy and me too. It is very good people help to poor people. Earthquake is disaster for such a country !!! It is not important whether this tragedy took place in Poland, of France or to Haiti. Almost 200,000 people died !!! :( It isn't nice to watch news, where dead and suffering people are. Poland sent people so that they saved of the ones what they survived, but yesterday they already came back. And who will help these people now ?? 2 weeks after tragedy ?? They will have to deal with alone... from Poland to Haiti a few ton were also sent to the food. Is it important that we are helping, but whether it will be enough for these people? For these people which so little want? I think that it very well collections of money and charity concerts are being organised. Children at schools are also collecting money. In the TV she is sometimes shown the one "advertisement" about how we can to help these aggrieved parties for people. I could also see bookmarks which they are informing of SMS sending at other TV programmes. It is very good. I think that people which survived on Haiti, a bit less will be sad how they will get the food and other things needed for them...

All World is helping Haiti !! :) A lot of people very much often talk about it. Haiti is a very poor country and people living in this country, they can count only for the aid from World. Very well, Haitians will get the food, drink and perhaps will forget for a moment what there happened People are sending SMS, they are transferring money through the Internet. I heard that people were arriving in Haiti to the beach, they are relaxing and they worry about nothing, and nearby of them lies thousands of dead people. I don't know whether it is good. There is a man which lost everything in this photograph what had. There is the same no hundred of thousands of people of house. :( I am sympathizing with these people, it is really something terrible. I would never like so that I happen something like that, for my family or with friend of mine. I wish nobody such a fate !!!

We must help. I am having high hopes that of money will be like the most people gathered together for these needy !! It is very important. Almost all people don't have houses after the revolution. He isn't taking place at hospitals, and lifeguards from the entire world are starting coming back to countries. People are dying in the street. I don't believe that over 200,000 thousand people could die !!! It is terrible !!! While looking at data channels which Haiti is showing after an earthquake we can see how this country is really poor. There are there no a lot of people what to eat, as this way as in Africa. :( (and not only) I don't like to listen and to read such messages, it isn't pleasant. In an earthquake 1 Pollish person died in Haiti. It is very painful, however 1 person isn't equaling 200,000 thousand. :( however very much a lot of people want to help !! They are sending SMS, they are giving money, singers are singing in order to collect money for the food and other needed things :) it is beautiful. On last Sunday by the church money was also being collected for persons suffering from Haiti. People are helping and it is super !!!

Hi!!!!!!!! I'm markf96 from Italy!!!!!!!! I'm very sorry to the people who living in the Caribbean island of Haiti. Also, in Italy there was in April in Abruzzo (a region of Italy, it's situated in the south of the country) a terrible eartquake of 7 of Richter Scale. Many people died under the palace and another many people were injuried. It was a very sad avveniment. Since this day, a lot of people live in tends and in hotel. A lot of buildings like comun house, school, supermarkets, hospital and important buildings were destroyed by the earthquake. But, all over the world helped the people of Abruzzo sending money, foods and hospital. I sended many messages to help these people!!!!!!!!!! Also Haiti needs the help of all over the world!!!!!!!!! It is fantastic !!! Very many people help to poor people in Haiti. Earthquake is disarter for such a country !! It is not important wheather this tragedy took place in Poland, of Spain or to Haiti. Almost 200.000 died !! It isn`t nice to watch news, where dead and suffering people are. Poland sent people so that they saved of the ones what they survived, but yesterday they already come back. And who will help these people now ?? 2 weeks after tragedy ?? They will have to deal with alone...from Poland to Haiti a few ton were also sent to the food. Is it important that we are helping, bit wheather it will be enough for these people ?? For these people which so little want ?? I think that it very well colletions of money and charity concerts are being organised. Children are school are also collecting money. In the TV she is sometimes shown the one "advertisement" about how we can to help these aggrieved parties for people. I could also see bookmarkets which they are informing of SMS sending at other TV programmes. It is very good. Compliments for article and bye !! :)

in my opinion we could give more more money to this poor population....in fact we shouldn't spend so much for footballers or celebrities....we should help more, but it's not simple....in Italy for the earthquake in L'Aquila last April a group of singers composed a beautiful song, "Domani", to raise funds for the population....other singers did concerts for charity...I think it's very very important to sensitize people....I hope someone will do something like that because I think we could be important for Haiti!!!

It is and biggest earthquake for a few years ! In 2008 in the Syczuan province from an earthquake about 90.000 people got lost in China !! It died in Haiti from 100.000 to even 200.000 people. Magnituda (power) amounted to this earthquake 7.2. There was a "mini" in Poland 3 weeks ago earthquake about the scale 4.0 however it wasn't perceptible by people. In Poland we don`t have a big tragedies however sometimes are tornadoes but not very menacing and I think they won't be! I don't want the tragedy on the entire Earth !! I agree with everyone that the earthquake is very dangerous!! Of course at one time stronger earthquakes were, however this many persons didn't usually die, since it was held in poorly populated places. I wish for people on Haiti to have it what needed for them !! Bye !!

I don`t like earthquakes. They are very terrible and dangerous. !! Very many people are dead. This way it should not be !! However I think that we cannot do nothing so that there are only no these tragedies to help we can with the one which are suffering after such a tragedy. I don't want if only more times something like that happened. It isn't nice. A lot of people don't have the house, the food and the drink, and we are wasting water, we are throwing the food away, and people walk on dustbins in order to consume something !! :( I think that a lot of people will think that we can help other and I must also help them !!
