“We want World of Warcraft!”

Do you love computer games? Would you wait in the street to buy a new computer game?

Last week, two thousand fans of World of Warcraft waited for hours in Oxford street in London to buy the new game. One man waited for 40 hours!

Emma Hintze, 21, was in the line. She said, “Playing Warcraft is like watching a great film, but you’re in it!”

World of Warcraft started in 2004. Now it has 11 million players – that is more than the population of Portugal!

But last week, a fifteen-year-old boy from Sweden went to hospital after playing WoW for 24 hours, without a break. Many parents and doctors think that some teens play the game too much. They are afraid that some teens are addicted.

Dr Richard Graham is a doctor. He says, “Some teenagers play Warcraft for 14 or 16 hours a day without breaks. They cannot study or talk to people in the real world because they live their life in the virtual world.”
