The New Pirates

They want €12 million!

These men are pirates. They are not like captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, they are pirates from Somalia in Africa – and they are dangerous.

What do they do?

The pirates are in small boats. They look for big ships. They carry guns and they want money – lots of money!

€12 million, please!

Now the pirates are on a ship called the Sirius Star. The ship is very big – and it is carrying a lot of oil. Pirates want €12 million from the owner of the Sirius Star. When the owner of the Sirius Star pays the money, the pirates give back the ship and the oil.

Why do the pirates do this?

For the money.

A Somalian man says: “It is fashionable to be a pirate. They can get big houses, new cars and beautiful wives.”

Pirates say they need the money because they are poor. One pirate says, “We only want the money so our families can live.”

What do you think about these pirates? Are they good or bad? I think bad about this pirates, it is NOT a job, to go and get money. Better make money yourselfe ! Go and find a job. Stop with STEALING!
