But who are the players?
Usually, the England football team doesn’t do well in tournaments. But now the England women’s team is better than the men’s!
This week, the England women’s team played Germany in the final of Euro 2009. England lost the match 6-2, but they were pleased to be in the final.
The England women’s manager, Hope Powell, says, “We’re happy with what we’ve achieved, but not satisfied with what we’ve achieved.”
Women’s football is not popular in England. But compared to the England men’s team, the women have done well. The England men’s team hasn’t reached a final for 43 years.
After the Euro 2009 final, female footballers in England hope people will be more interested in the sport. Linzi Hewitt, a female football coach, says, “The female game is still young, but success like this will increase support.”
The German team is very good at women’s football – they have won the past five European Cups.

In Italy the women's footballl team it isn't popular! I don't know if the italian women's team is good, because I have never see a football women's match! I think wowen's football is less popular than man's because football is a sport more male than female - I think. But the girls can however play it, too! In Italy the women's basketball team and the women's volleyball team are more popular than the football's one!

Yes, it does. In Spain we have some women's football team, but... of course that type of game isn't as popular as men's football. I think that women's football isn't as popular as men's because the first people that started to play that sport were boys, and... because when football started women had to stay at home and care for the children. I hope that in the future, women's football will be as popular as men's.

Hm... I don't know if in Slovenia we have any women's football team It isn't popular in my country. Girls in my class hate football. The last question is very interesting... I'm persuaded that this is becaus of the foolisness: " Boys are better then girls!!!" =(

Here in Greece I don't think that we have a women's football team..Boys are better than girls at football they have it in their blood..!!

In Italy women's football team is unpopular, they never appear on Tv channels, so the most part of the Italian population don't know them. Some girls begin to play football when they're very little, but for some particular reasons, the most part of times they leave their football team. We know that since the starting of Sports, the men were the protagonists, we started so, and know the situation is the same. Probably the most part of people are convinced that there are sports for men and sports for women, now things are changing, and a bigger part of population is thinking that football could be practiced by girls too.

Yes my country has a good women football team I'm from Germany and what are the women of Germany WORLD CHAMPIONS!! Its cool that the women play football, too. Its amazing that the women are better than the men. :) Women football is not so popular, because the men play it longer than the women so they can get more fans.

I know that we have a women´s football team in Austria, but I don´t know if they are good or not..! Me, I play football and I know the football gets more popular for women. The Autrians try to have as lot as women footballplayers as possible. I don´t think that men are better than women but I think there are too less women, who play football so it isn´t aided as the men´s.
