What’s for lunch?
In Britain, school finishes at 3 o’clock – so kids eat their lunch at school.
Some children eat a school lunch – that’s a lunch that the school makes. But many take a ‘packed lunch’ to school. A packed lunch is a lunch that they make at home and take to school.
Recently, teachers looked at 1300 pupils’ packed lunches. They found that only 13 of the lunches were healthy!
Sweets, crisps, chocolate and sugary drinks were often in the packed lunches.
School lunches are healthy. Schools have to give healthy foods like vegetables, fruit, milk and yoghurt.

I have my lunch at home. I dont' have to take with me any packed lunch because I return at home at 13.30 pm. When I return at home I found my lunch prepared by my sister. She cooks for me a lot of food like lasnagne, pizza, fish and chips....I like very much as she cooks!! I like lunch at home because, while I eat, I can watch tv: my favourite cartoon, that is One piece.

my school finish at 1 o'clock p.m... well...the guys eat in they're home...in elementary school (is under my middle school) the children have two possibility: one is eat the terrible food of school cantine, two is go to they're home and...LIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!when I was at the elementary school I always eat ta my home...in the morning elementary school finish at 12.30...childrens go to eat and at 14.30 pm lessons started again...in my middle school we go to school from monday to saturday and i write again the school finish at 1 o'clock...but we DON'T go to school in the afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!at 5 to eleven we eat and at 5 past eleven the lassons started agin for two hours...for me usually the latter hours are very boring especially maths!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!bye bye everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!:)XD XD:)

I eat thurthdays and fridays in the school I think they cook very good sure sometimes I have to eat things I don't like but most of the time the food is very good!!! But on mondys wednesdays and thurthdays I eat at home because I don't have school in the afternoon thanks heaven! On Saturdays and Sundays I don't have school!!! and there I also eat at home!!!

Hi!!!!!!!!!! I'm markf96 from Italy!!!!!!!!! In Legnano, the city where I live, my school start at 8.05 a.m. and finish at 1.30 p.m. At 10.45 a.m. we have the break where I eat something. I usually eat crackers or chips for break. When I get home from school I'm very hungry, so I eat a lot. Every day I have lunch at my Grand-mother's home. I usually eat for lunch two ar three dishes: I usually eat pasta with tomato sauce, beefsteak, salade and fruits for lunch. In the afternoon I don't have any break because I eat at 2 p.m. and I eat a lot for lunch. At 7.30 p.m. I have dinner. I usually eat rice and fish or cheese for dinner. I never eat at school because I go every day to my Granda's house. My favourite foods are Lasagne, wurstel and chocolate. In my opinion, my alimentation is quite healthily. I get home from school every day at 1.30 p.m. and I have lunch at 2 o'clock. My mum cooks for me some delicious dishes like ravioli, pasta or lasagne and then I eat fresh season fruit and vegetables with meat or fish...but once a month I buy a slice of pizza and I eat it with my friends while I'm coming back from school! Hi... This is an interesting article because speak of food... However for lunch I eat different things like pasta, vegetables,... In short I eat healthy food... Well, when I'm at school I eat in the school canteen but when I'm at home I eat there... Always same speech, when I'm at school is the Dinner Lady who cook but when I'm at home cooks are my parents... They are a fantastic cook... bye bye ;p

My name is sofia.I love cook !So sometimes I cook for my family. It's funny but sometimes is dangerous because maybe makes fire in kichen. My lunch I eat at home. When I cook I like to cooking spagheti,pizza, a lot of kind green salads and more.When l was 11 years old in my school we'd pucked lunch. There are a lot of school and they have school lunch.But I think sometimes in schools there are some unhealthy foods.In my school we have buttery and there are a lot of children in frond of when we have break.I know there are school breakfast,too! School dinner has been free in Swedish elementary and secondary schools since 1993 :) Normally, the lunch is prepared like a buffet, where pupils serve themselves as much as they want (meat,rice,fish and more). Milk and water are usually offered as drinks.I hate school breakfast and lunch because I don't know what there is in foods :s !!!! :)

In Italy some students finish school at 1.30 p.m and then they go home to have lunch. Everyday I go to my grandparents and I eat with them. For my lunch I eat pasta, meat, lasagne vegetables and sometime fish.

Hi!!! At Catalinia private school we finish at 5 o'clock and then we lunch at school. Many many many boys and girls at school say that the school lunch is repugnant ( my too of course ) their are saying the really, because if do you eat this YOU ARE FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! My school finished at 13:15 p.m. and starts at 7:45 a.m... in our school we can't bye packed luch. for lunch i often have a piece of bread with ..... butter or soooo. ... but you can't say it's a lunch for us. Our brake is at 9:30 p.m. To early for a lunch. In winter or when it is bad weather we eat in the class room and when it is sunny we can go outside. but everybody don't like it when we have to go outside. the brake in the class is much funnier....

Hello. In Poland we don`t have a lunch, but in English you have a lunch. The lunch is eating in hours from 10.00 to 13.00 itself. Children are eating the lunch at schools. School lunch he this photo is very tasty :D I would like to eat this pasta served with a sauce. Is it necessary to pay for the school lunch? It seems to me, that so. When I walked for the primary education a milk was being handed out for free, but eating never. I to the school most often take 3 small slices of bread for 7 lessons and for me a food is enough :) however that's true if it is about bad feeding oneself children at schools!! There are a shop and a machine at my secondary school (as this way as almost at every school). It is possible in them to buy different sweets so as: chips, bars of chocolate, pizza, coca - cola and of notes only. Everyday I can see how many children are buying chips themselves :D I rarely eat chips. But I can see that in Great Britain children are also feeding unhealthily. At some schools in Poland shops were inserted with fruits, but still much they aren't. We will see whether something will change....

For lunch I usually have some Pasta and some meat with vegetables but sometimes I eat only the Pasta or the meat. I eat my lunch at home because I'm celiac so I can't eat at school canteen. My mother sometimes makes my lunch but I usually make it by myself because she must go to work.

Hi !!! My name is sofia.In thessaloniki where l live schools started 8:10 morning and finished at 14:20.Sometimes l have lunch my grand-mother's home. She is alone because my grand-father is dead.Sometimes she need me and my brother so we will go her home.She cook very well.My favourite food from her is fish and more.She likes healthy foods! l come back for my school. We have 6 breaks for 5 minutes.Sometimes we have 3 or 4 tests in the one day :(. In the first break l eat a sandwich. Sometimes I will eat at home before I go at school.In my family we haven't dinner.We eat a litle bread with cheese or we eat fruits.Maybe some night we eat pizza.When my mam have works I cook for all my family.We started " dinner" at 21:00.Weekend we haven't school but l have a lot of works. I like food and fast food. I love sweets !!! I can eat the chocolate and bars of chocolate and other sweets all the time !!! But I am limiting myself, it is necessary. Not yet I am fat, but as if too much I ate it most probably in order to so was :( I will sometimes eat or else he will help himself from other with chips, but rarely!! And other children eat it every day chips!! It is horrible !! It is very unhealthy and fat!!! I don't know whether somebody wanted to be fat... However more and more people are having the obesity. The most in the USA, but in Poland and in other countries people are also more and more often obese. It is hard not to help itself to sweets at school or at home. Now I am just eating the chocolate bar of chocolate :D is Good :) but it is a truth, that children at schools have or they are getting the unhealthy food. But what with it to do if sweets more are tasting from fruits and vegetables ?? It is possible to exercise, but for me I don't want myself, and in such exercises (tummies, pumps) the perseverance is very important. I hope that people more won't be putting on weight !!! Bye !

Hi! In turkey we eat lunch in school. everyday we eat different foods in mess. but ı don't like mess's foods because of this ı eat in canteen. In canteen there are some chocolates and sweets but there aren't any chips. and ın canteen ı often eat toast. I know it is harmfull but ı love it. and my favourite drink is Sprite. I always drink Sprite. I don't like Coco Cola. I think Sprite is better than Coco Cola. when ı bored toast sometimes ı eat in mess.

Hi everyone!In Turkey we eat in school too. There are many foods in my school but not like chips, chocolates, sweets etc.We eat Turkish foods, soups. I want to eat chocolate or sweet but I can't. If I want chocolate very much I come home than I eat. I don't know what we eat in lunch because the people who comes not from our school makes them. There aren't bad but aren't good too. Sometimes I don't eat anything because the foods aren't very good. I eat in dining hall but if the foods bad and I have got some money I eat in canteen. There are many chocolates sweets and fast foods. I like many of them. My favourite one is sandwiches but they are different from the other sandwiches. I can put everything in it.The souces are great.If you want you can put something in toast too but it's cost a little more than the normal toast.

I eat in our school counteen. For me and other children from my school cookies cook our lunch. We have got warm food. We usually have some special czech food for exemple roast pork with dumplings and cabbage or svirloin in cream sauce. It's yummy! Who don't want to go to the school counteen go home for lunch. Our school start at 8 and finish at 13:30. After we go home or to the school counteen. Sometimes we have got also lessons from 7 to 12:30 and after from 13:40 to 15:20. It's horrible! We have got lunch on the break. We go to the school counteen because it's cheaper than go home for lunch. One lunch costs 30 Kč. It's just about 1,034 pounds. It's very good article! Hello I'm sofia.I like healthy foods.Sometimes I like and fast foods , too.I hate sweets.Maybe when I will go In my team I will eat a little biscuit but not very often. When I feel dilute in gym I buy a little juice :).I'm strong but some friends say I have to eat 5-6 little meals a day. But I eat 2 or 3 good meals. Before I go in gym I eat a little meals aftre that I eat a good meals.And now I'm 1:71m. It's fantastic :o) !!!!

I usually eat my lunch at home, I don't like eating in the school canteen so when I need to stay at school I take a packed lunch... but an healthy one! In my packed lunch I always put fruit. I sometimes eat a slice of pizza or a sandwich. In winter I drink something hot such as a cup of tea with milk or a cappuccino. I don't like pasta so when I make my lunch at home I open the fridge and eat vegetables (salad, tomatoes, spinach...) and some cheese. I always end with fruit. I sometimes drink a cup of coffee and eat some buiscuits. What do you think? Am I one of the 13 pupil with an healthy lunch?

Every day, I go to out from my school at 13.30, arriving at 13.50 in the dad's workshop, my mother prepares the firts: pasta or gnocchi and a second: fish or meat or ham. Sometimes she buy for me the pizza..it is very good!! Lunch while I watching the TV. Bye-Bye

At my school I can't take sandwiches or others foods from my home.I have to eat school lunch once a week.i go home every day at 1:30 p.m. but on wednesday I have to go home at 4:15 p.m.When I go home for lunch I usually eat pasta,fish and some others delicious dishes !!!!!!!! I like to the breakfast petals with the very milk of flies!! It is delicious. :) I like eat it !! However in the food vegetables and fruits are important!!! It is necessary to eat the vitamin C often (products in which she is, or pills if not an access to fruits is had) one isn't allowed to eat very sweets !! But I know that they are tempting !! :D Sweets very often eat of children. On this photo packed lunch is healthy and In my opinion packed lunches are more often healthier, rather than school, but I don't know because in Poland he doesn't have the lunch. Very little children in Great Britain had the healthy food at school. I don't believe that only 13 around 1300 !! It is one per cent, if I am not wrong!!! It is unthinkable. I hope that soon at least half will be healthy lunchy at school :D I don't know whether children in Poland are feeding better, however I am doubting it. All the time at school I can see chips and bars of chocolate :D What to do ?? I don't know :( We'll see! Bye!

Interesting article !! I like articles about food. In Europe people eat "normal" food, but in Africa, America or Asia sometimes people eat other things like: crabs, snakes, mussels and other strange things. Oh no !!! It is horrible. G'DAYI get home from school every day at 1.30 p.m. and I have lunch at 2.30 . My mum cooks for me some delicious dishes like pasta or lasagne,carciofi, delicius food and then I eat fresh season fruit and vegetables with meat or fish... I eat in school dining room. We have good food every time. We can choose from three foods and it is always good. I like pasta and fish fingers and fruit of course. It is good eat in school it is cheaper and healthier then at home or in restaurants and fast foods. I like eating in school, because I can be with friends. But on the weekend I eat at home. In front of my house is McDonald :D I like fast foods in this place, but I rerely I walk there. hi!! i eat in my school, in my school in primary nobody goes to eat to house!!! in ESO a cycle in the spanish school i don't know what's the name in english but in this cycle more persons go to a restaurant near the school.... the eat of my school it's horrible!! I usually have my lunch at home, with my parents. But for christmas for example, we lunch at restaurant, also with my uncles and my cousins. The vegetables are healthy but I don't like very much. Hello !! Best to have some fruit for lunch for example the apple or the banana. It is possible also to eat the sandwich or the bar of chocolate, although I would advise against the bar of chocolate :D I am sometimes a sweet or a bar of chocolate overcome to the school. However I don't eat chips or other sweets every day (I am eating but I am trying to limit), but many children at my school every day have money at school and they are buying a lot of sweets (most often chips). This way it should not be !!
